Advocates Bureau Yug: A Leader Among Litigators in Russias Regions According to Pravo.rus Eighth Litigation Study

As noted by Pravo.ru, the number of leaders among regional teams has nearly halved compared to 2022. Only five law firms made it into the first group: Krasnodar-based Advocates Bureau Yug, ANP ZENIT from Kazan, Novosibirsks AB Grebneva and Partners, YUKEY (Perm), and St. Petersburg-based RAUD.

Pravo.ru analysts examined approximately 10,000 court decisions issued by arbitration courts in 2023. The study results were traditionally divided into federal and regional ratings and presented in tables consisting of four groups. The selection process took into account several criteria:

• the total amount of claims without considering the cases outcome and regardless of the amount awarded after the dispute resolution;
• the number of cases in progress with companies in 2023;
• the number of final instance decisions in courts in 2023;
• the score for the outcome in courts: Each positive decision for the company was awarded one point, partial satisfaction of the claim was awarded 0.5 points, and a loss was awarded 0.1 points. If the claim was left without consideration, the case ended in a settlement agreement, or the dispute was sent for review in cassation, then such an outcome was evaluated individually depending on the materials of the case;
• the average amount of claims except claims with non-monetary requirements;
• the win rate reflects the overall success rate of the firms in courts, calculated as the ratio of favorable decisions to the total number of cases handled.

The study results highlight a trend of increased interest in participating in the ratings among federal companies and an expansion of the geography of regional litigators. Last year, it included legal teams from six constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Now, law firms from 20 Russian cities, from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, are present.
