Advocates Bureau Yug successfully defended the major importer of home appliances in the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation

Customers filed two claims against ABY’s client – one of the major Russian importers of home appliances. They asked to cancel sale agreements on coffeemakers, recover penalty, fees, compensation for moral damages, and attorney’s fee. We resisted such claims referring to their illegal grounds, as well as, obvious abuse of law by the buyers, which refused to provide the client with the said coffeemakers for quality control while demanding refund.

Prikubansky and Pervomaysky District Court of Krasnodar satisfied the lawsuit, and the Krasnodar Regional Court upheld the decision. All the lawsuits were appealed in the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. The Supreme Court forwarded both lawsuits to its Judicial Division for Civil Cases.

On 16.07.2019 the Division satisfied our claims on the cases: the Division canceled the appeal ruling of the Krasnodar Regional Court and returned them both lawsuits for further consideration.
